This paper will explore the HTTP pipeline architecture. First from a high level, and then look inside the pipeline at all classes involved. It will also discuss how to extend the pipeline by creating custom application classes with global.asax, by creating custom handlers and by creating custom modules. Finally, it will describe threading in the pipeline: how threads are allocated, how classes are allocated and pooled, how it impacts your applications. Source code included.
