This rather simple script provides you and/or your readers the ability to run common diagnostic commands such as ping, finger, traceroute, & whois. It has built-in safeguards to prevent outside hacking attempts and runaway processes from happening. This script is written in PERL5 for Unix serversBe sure to upload the birdseye.cgi file as ASCII if you are moving the script from either a PC or Mac to a Unix server. If you have problems with the script, please check out the Script Troubleshooting Page before writing. Since very operating system is different, please do not write us asking where the various utility programs are located. Please consult with your system's administrator.
